OUTPOST

Onsite presence. Adversary perspective.

What is OUTPOST?

Onsite presence. Adversary perspective.

OUTPOST is Cyber Defense Technologies’ onsite hardware kit for delivering Penetration Testing as a Service (PTaaS). Designed to place an assessment platform within the customer’s environment, OUTPOST brings CDT’s security expertise closer to the systems, infrastructure, and operations that matter most.

Security changes every time an organization introduces a system, updates an application, adjusts access, or expands its network. OUTPOST supports a recurring assessment approach that helps organizations understand those changes, identify exploitable weaknesses, and verify that corrective actions work.

By combining an onsite testing platform with CDT’s assessment services, OUTPOST gives organizations a practical way to evaluate security from an adversary’s perspective. Engagements focus on how weaknesses could affect operations, which exposures deserve attention first, and what actions will reduce risk.

OUTPOST engagements

Deploy locally. Assess regularly. Validate improvements.

Internal penetration testing

Evaluate authorized systems and services for exploitable weaknesses, privilege escalation opportunities, and potential lateral movement.

Security control validation

Assess how segmentation, access restrictions, endpoint defenses, and monitoring respond to agreed testing scenarios.

Recurring exposure assessments

Revisit the environment on an established schedule to identify new weaknesses and changes in security posture.

Remediation verification

Retest previously identified findings and provide evidence of whether corrective actions resolved the underlying issue.

Red and purple team exercises

Support scoped adversary simulations and collaborative exercises that help defenders evaluate detection and response.

Infrastructure change assessments

Evaluate security implications associated with new deployments, network changes, acquisitions, and expanded operations.

Use cases

  • Recurring enterprise penetration testing
  • Branch and remote location assessments
  • Post-remediation validation
  • Security reviews before or after significant infrastructure changes

Why OUTPOST

  • Onsite presence. An assessment platform placed within your environment, close to the systems, infrastructure, and operations that matter most.
  • No infrastructure to build. Repeatable internal testing without building and maintaining your own dedicated assessment infrastructure.
  • Less setup, more testing. An onsite kit can reduce repeated setup effort and support remote delivery of agreed assessment activities.
  • Prioritized results. Reporting that connects technical findings to business impact, with prioritized recommendations and a clear path for follow-up validation.
  • Proof that fixes work. Retesting provides evidence of whether corrective actions resolved the underlying issue.
  • Clearly scoped. Testing objectives, authorized targets, access requirements, and execution windows are defined through the engagement’s scope and rules of engagement.
